In collaboration with the Miller Institute for Global Education and the International Club, we [Brenau University students] are raising funds to bring the joy of Christmas to 330 children at Centro Educativo Capetí, an educational center located in one of Panama's poorest indigenous communities. Due to the limited access these children have to basic needs, many of them have never experienced a traditional Christmas celebration. We aim to change that by organizing a Christmas party featuring food, activities, and small gifts - bringing this community in need hope and happiness during the holiday season. These funds will be used to purchase toys for the children, meals for volunteers, and event supplies like plastic bags and trophies. Through Brenau's key partnerships, we will offset the costs of transportation, lodging, and other miscellaneous expenses.
Why are donations necessary?
This fundraiser will be used to support the organization of this special Christmas initiative, helping offset the costs of transportation, meals, and presents. Although this project will leverage all of Brenau University's strategic partnerships domestically and abroad, this fundraiser will offset basic costs that make this project feasible.
